Booking & Reservations

Do I need a reservation, or can I walk in?

We recommend booking your Witch Pix experience online before you arrive so your preferred time is waiting for you like a spell already cast. Walk-ins may be available when the calendar allows, but reservations receive priority.

How do I book a Witch Pix photo shoot?

You can book directly through our website. Choose your group size, package, and time, then watch for your confirmation email with the details.

Will I receive a booking confirmation?

Yes. After booking, you should receive a confirmation email. If it does not appear in your inbox, check spam or promotions first, then contact us and we will help confirm your appointment.

Can I change my appointment time?

Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans shift. We will do our best to help you reschedule based on availability and our booking policies.

Packages & Pricing

How much does a Witch Pix experience cost?
Pricing depends on the package, group size, and photo options. Each experience includes costume styling, a guided professional photo shoot, and digital files emailed immediately following your session.Please see our Packages and Pricing page for details.

VIP private sessions, large groups, and special event planning are priced on a case-by-case basis considering staff and house resources, season, number of people, food and beverage, and special guests/activities. Please contact us for more information.
 
What is included in the session?
Each session includes access to our curated witch wardrobe, styling guidance, a themed set, posing direction, and a professional photo shoot designed to make you feel camera-ready, even if you have never modeled before.
 
Do we get all of the photos?
Digital images are included with all our sessions, unless it is a promotional discount event or photobooth pop-up. Printed portraits can be added to your experience at the time of booking online, on-site the day of shoot, or after the fact online.  After your shoot, you will have a gallery reveal where you'll get to see all your photos.  Your photographer will upload your photos and provide an email link for your easy downloading.  Custom portrait framing, printed photos, and photo albums are for sale on-site.

Costumes, Styling, and Personal Looks

Do you provide costumes?

Yes. We provide a curated wardrobe of witchy costumes, accessories, and styling pieces so you can step into character the moment you arrive.  Our Enchanted Wardrobe is filled with over 400 costume pieces, ranging in size from infant to 4X, for all gender expressions. Each costume is sprayed, steamed, and sanitized after every use.

Can I bring my own costume or accessories?

Absolutely. You are welcome to bring your own pieces, sentimental accessories, or a full look. Our team can help blend your items with our wardrobe for a custom style.

Will someone help me choose what to wear?

Yes. Our stylists help you choose a look that fits your personality, group, and photo set. Whether you want elegant, spooky, playful, dramatic, or darkly romantic, we will help conjure the right vibe.

Should I come in makeup or can I get ready there?

Please arrive mostly ready if you plan to wear makeup, a wig, or detailed personal styling. We may have limited space for final touch-ups, but we do not have a full private dressing or makeup station.

Can I purchase a costume from your studio?

The costumes from our Enchanted Wardrobe are not for sale, but we do sell handmade hats and wands!

Groups, Celebrations, and Special Occasions

Can Witch Pix accommodate groups or parties?

Yes. Witch Pix is a favorite for birthdays, bachelorette parties, friend trips, family outings, and magickal celebrations. Groups should book ahead so we can plan the best flow for your visit.  Groups of 10 or more should look for schedule options and packages such as Bachelorette Experience (6-15 people), Family Gathering (10-15 people) or our Private House Immersion Experience and Custom events.

Is Witch Pix good for birthdays or bachelorette parties?

Yes. Our experience is designed to be memorable, interactive, and photo-worthy, making it a strong fit for milestone birthdays, bachelorette weekends, girls' trips, and celebratory group experiences.

What is the maximum group size?

Group size depends on the package and schedule availability. Larger groups (such as 20-50) may need additional planning or rotating photo times so everyone has a great experience.  Unique experiences can be blocked for subgroups groups over multiple hours and are priced and arranged as a special event.  Contact us at manager@witchpix.com to make your special group plans.

The Photo Experience

What happens during a Witch Pix session?

You will arrive, check in, choose your witchy wardrobe, get styled, and step onto one of our custom sets. Your photographer will guide posing and expression so the final portraits feel magickal, polished, and personal.

Do I need to know how to pose?

Not at all. Our photographers guide you through posing, expression, and movement. You do not need to be experienced in front of the camera—just bring your sense of adventure.

Can you recommend the best set or theme for us?

Yes. Tell us your mood: glamorous, spooky, playful, romantic, family-friendly, etc., and our team can suggest a set and styling direction that fits your group.

Am I allowed to take my own photos?

Unless you have selected a package that includes “selfie” opportunities, personal photos are not allowed.

Photos, Editing, and Image Delivery

When do we see our photos?

You will review your images shortly after your session during our photo reveal. Instant gratification!

Are the photos edited?

Your selected images will receive professional finishing with multiple color and monochromatic filters. We do not currently offer additional editing, but your downloadable high resolution images can certainly be edited by anyone you trust.

Do you offer digital images?

Yes. Digital images are included with all our services. 

Are prints included?

Unless listed with your selected package, prints are not included, but are available as add-ons. We also have frame and album options.

Logistics, Arrival, and Parking

How long does the experience take?

Most visits take between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on your package, group size, styling needs, and photo selections.  The exact time allotted will be clearly spelled out during your online booking.

When should I arrive?

We are an on-time experience.  Your reservation and all services begin at the time booked. You do not need extra time in advance to pick out costumes; our stylists will handle that during your session.  Make-up application and restroom needs should be managed before your actual appointment time.  Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment so you have time to check in and begin your transformation without feeling rushed.

Where is Witch Pix located?

Witch Pix is located in historic downtown Salem, Massachusetts. Our new location at the historic Pequot House (effective June 1, 2026) is 29 Congress Street Salem, Massachusetts 01970.

Does Witch Pix have a restroom available for customers?

Yes, we have 2 guest bathrooms for customers and staff.  We operate in an old historic house, so it's as comfortable and cozy as being at home. Destination Salem also provides restroom information for your visit.

Is Witch Pix ADA compliant or handicap accessible?

Because we operate in a historic saltbox-style house with 2 floors and an attic, and like many of Salem's buildings, we are not officially accessible.  This new location is charming, but complicated: There is 1 step up at our front door, and uneven 100-year-old wood floors.  Luckily, the use of stairs is not required for a Witch Pix shoot, as The Enchanted Wardrobe (our costume selection), The Herbal Hearth set, and The Spellbook Gallery (where your photos are revealed) are all located on the first floor.  Our other two sets, The Crystal Vanity and The Velvet Parlor, are located on the second floor, accessed by 13 narrow, curved steps. There are safety railings and lights installed, but it is not recommended for those with limited mobility, especially while wearing long costumes.  Our rooms and hallways are small, so the house may not be suited for wheelchairs.  We want to be able to accommodate as much as we can, so please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns, or see our accessibility statement for more.

 

Where can I park for a Witch Pix experience?

Witch Pix has parking on-site as well as parallel street parking in the area. On weekends and on weekdays after 5pm, plenty of parking flexibility makes it easy to get close by.  Space will be limited from Monday to Friday because we share space with a business center, Shetland Park.  The South Harbor Garage is close by as well. During busy season, parking is much more limited, due to large crowds and/or street closures. Who Witch Pix is For

Is Witch Pix only for women?

No! Witch Pix welcomes all genders, identities, ages, and styles. The magick is for anyone who wants to dress up, step into character, and leave with unforgettable portraits.

Is Witch Pix kid-friendly?

Yes. Witch Pix can be fun for kids, families, teens, adults, and multi-generational groups. Some styling and set choices may be better suited for certain ages, and our team can guide you.

Do you photograph couples, families, or solo guests?

Yes. We photograph solo guests, couples, families, friends, and groups. Whether you are traveling alone or arriving with your whole coven, we can help create a memorable experience.

Can I get portraits with my pet?

We love familiars! However, we do not allow pets during weekends in October.

Policies & Planning

What if I am running late?

Please contact us as soon as you know you may be late. We will do our best to help, but late arrivals may shorten the experience, require full cancellation or rescheduling depending on the day's calendar.

What is your cancelation policy?

Cancelation and rescheduling policies for refund eligibility are mostly 24-48 hours but may vary by booking type, season, and package. Please visit our About page, review the policy shown at booking, or contact us for help with your specific reservation.
